Kaye Adams

A graduate of the University of Edinburgh with an MA Honours degree in Economics and Politics, Kaye began her broadcasting career as a graduate trainee with Central Television. Early in her career she secured an award-winning interview with then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at 10 Downing Street before moving to Scottish Television’s flagship news programme, Scotland Today. She was one of the first journalists on the scene following the Lockerbie disaster in 1988, covering one of the most significant news events in modern British history.

In 1992, Kaye became the host of the acclaimed debate programme Scottish Women, a role that showcased her talent for leading intelligent and engaging discussions. Her work earned her numerous industry accolades, including two BAFTA Scotland Awards and an RTS Award. Over the years, she has established herself as one of Britain’s most trusted broadcasters, regularly tackling a diverse range of subjects with insight, sensitivity and humour.

Alongside her television work, Kaye has enjoyed a successful radio career, hosting the popular BBC Radio Scotland phone-in programme Call Kaye, which earned her the title of Scottish Broadcaster of the Year. She is also a successful columnist, podcast host and author. Her podcast, How To Be 60, continues to attract a loyal following, while her books include Disaster Chef and Parent Alert, co-authored with fellow broadcaster Nadia Sawalha, and Still Hot: 42 Brilliantly Honest Menopause Stories.

In 2022, Kaye reached a new audience as a contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, bringing the same authenticity, humour and resilience that have made her a household name throughout her career.
