Biography

Kaye Adams has a number of impressive strings to her bow.  A veteran journalist, TV presenter and award-winning broadcaster, she is an original Loose Woman which started in 1999.

A University of Edinburgh graduate with an MA Honours in economics and politics, Kaye joined Central Television as a graduate trainee straight from the university. One of her first interviews was an award-winning hour-long interview at 10 Downing Street, with then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Kaye then moved to Scottish Television’s nightly news programme, Scotland Today and was one of the first journalists on the scene in Lockerbie in 1988 after PanAm flight 103 was blown up.

In 1992, she took over from Sheena McDonald to host a debate show which saw Kaye win a number of awards. She presented Scottish Women for six years.  Her talent for hosting live discussion shows and debates saw her pick up several awards including two BAFTA Scotland Awards and an RTS.

Kaye has been a regular columnist for The Daily Record, The Scottish Sun and No1 magazine, and has hosted her own daily phone-in show ‘Call Kaye’ for BBC Radio Scotland, for many years.

As well as broadcasting and writing commitments, Kaye Adams spends much of her time on the corporate circuit, regularly giving after dinner speeches about her career in journalism and the media.

And as one of the UK’s most experienced broadcasters, she in much demand for hosting corporate award dinners and facilitating conferences or symposiums. This is owing to Kaye’s natural flair for grasping complex briefs and communicating key ideas to audiences in a way that is informed yet highly accessible.

A skilled interviewer, Kaye is equally as comfortable confronting senior business figures and putting them through their paces as she is with junior staff and management.   She co authored a cookery book in 2018 with fellow Loose woman Nadia Sawalha called Nadia & Kaye: Disaster Chef.
