Read more about Sue Perkins

Sue Perkins first came to the public’s attention in 1997 when she and her sidekick Mel Giedroyc presented the popular show ‘Light Lunch’ on Channel 4 which ran for five series before transferring to an evening slot with the imaginatively titled, ‘Late Lunch’. Together they jumped and shouted their way through countless hours of television, marking the start of a double act that has lasted for seventeen years.

Over the years, Sue has worked on a wide range of solo projects, including documentaries on art, popular fiction and history. In 2008 she appeared on the BBC show Maestro, which she won, culminating in her conducting at The Last Night of the Proms. She has also collaborated with the food critic, Giles Coren on a number of programmes including ‘The Supersizers’ series, where they got to experience food from a variety of historical periods, including sow's udder pate, Bovine Bread and Butter Pudding, Duck Tongues and several thousand bottles of wine.

Sue’s most recent presenting feats include presenting ‘The Game of Thrones: The Story so Far’ and a four part series called ‘The Mekong River with Sue Perkins’ which involved Sue taking part in a six month epic adventure up the Mekong river, also known as the ‘Mother of Water’. Her adventure explored the lives of the people from the paddy fields of Vietnam to the mountains of Tibetan Plateau. Sue’s life-changing, heart-warming and sometimes humorous journey was first broadcast on BBC2 in April.

2013 saw the premiere of Sue’s very own sitcom ‘Heading Out’ which aired on BBC2 of which she is the writer, star & producer. As well as this Sue presented the third series of The Great British Bake Off which had record breaking viewers and moves to BBC1 that year. Only a year before she travelled to Vietnam and Thailand for the second series of World's Most Dangerous Roads, this time with Liza Tarbuck as her driving partner.

Sue has been concentrating on some of her own development projects, namely new Radio 4 panel show Dilemma, which sees Sue posing a series of moral and ethical dilemmas to a panel of comics, journalists and other great thinkers of our time. Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows including QI, Have I Got News For You and Argumental on TV and The News Quiz and Just a Minute on Radio. She has also contributed regularly to News Night Review and The Culture Show. As well as radio and TV Sue also contributes to various columns in magazines, most recently with a regular feature in BBC Homes & Antiques and Waitrose Weekend magazines.

Sue has developed a name for herself as a bit of a foodie and has worked on a number of food related programmes aside from those she has made with Giles Coren. These include The Big Food Fight and notably The Great British Bake Off, with her double-act partner Mel Giedroyc.

A fantastic and ever so entertaining speaker to have at any event, Sue Perkins will have you feeling inspired whilst grinning from ear to ear.

Testimonials

"Sue Perkins was brilliant and very current, hilarious and really made the awards fun. So much energy in the room! She was a great sport having photos taken with us after.” That says it all really! Would absolutely recommend Sue to others as a host for a corporate event. She judged the audience perfectly and combined banter with 'the serious stuff' in a way that really made the evening flow."

Melcrum Publishing

"She was a huge hit with our guests, many of them have emailed me to comment on how amusing they found her and how she kept the audience’s attention throughout the numerous awards. She was absolutely lovely and very easy going, which always makes the evening run so much more smoothly. "
