About Nicky Campbell
Nicky Campbell has become one of the UK’s most trusted and recognisable media figures. From hard-hitting political interviews and current affairs programming to family reunions and ethical debates.
Nicky spent more than 30 years with the BBC, including a long tenure on BBC Radio 5 Live, where he co-hosted the award-winning Breakfast Show and interviewed every Prime Minister since Margaret Thatcher. His journalism has earned widespread acclaim, including six Sony Gold Radio Awards and induction into the Radio Academy Hall of Fame.
His television career has been equally varied, encompassing everything from Watchdog, which he fronted for almost nine years, to BBC One’s The Big Questions and ITV’s BAFTA-winning Long Lost Family alongside Davina McCall. Throughout his work, he has developed a reputation for tackling sensitive and complex subjects with empathy, intelligence and authenticity.
Away from broadcasting, Nicky is an accomplished writer and advocate. Adopted as a baby, he has spoken openly about his own adoption journey and explored the subject in his acclaimed memoir Blue-Eyed Son. In recognition of his work supporting adoption and fostering, he was awarded an OBE in 2015.
A highly experienced conference host, facilitator and after-dinner speaker, Nicky combines journalistic rigour with warmth, humour and humanity, bringing insight and perspective to every event.
