The Secrets of Queer History: Everything They Never Taught You In School
Queer history is everywhere—but much of it has been erased, rewritten, or hidden in plain sight. From forgotten LGBTQ+ icons to secret symbols and underground networks, this talk uncovers the ways queer people have survived, connected, and shaped the world throughout history.

What Asexuality Can Teach Us About Love
Asexuality challenges traditional ideas of romance, attraction, and intimacy, offering a fresh perspective on how we define love. What can the ace community teach about rethinking relationships, building meaningful connections, and embracing community beyond physical attraction?

Moral Panics: What History Tells Us About Today’s Culture Wars
From witch hunts to book bans, societies have always panicked about “dangerous” ideas. But why? This talk breaks down the psychology of moral panics, how they target marginalized groups, and how to spot them in real time.

The History of Queer Cinema
Queer representation in film has come a long way—from coded subtext and censorship to bold, unapologetic celebration. This talk traces the history of queer cinema, exploring how societal attitudes, behind the scenes restrictions, and cultural shifts shaped the stories we saw on screen.

“Just Talk About It”: Unpacking the Myths of Mental Health
Mental health conversations are everywhere—but are they helping or hindering? This talk challenges the widespread belief that simply talking about mental health is enough to break the stigma. By exploring the myths surrounding mental health discussions, we’ll dive into why awareness alone often falls short and how we can move from superficial conversations to real, meaningful change.

OCD: The Most Misunderstood Mental Illness?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is often reduced to jokes about cleanliness or quirky habits, but the reality is far more complex and debilitating. This talk explores the misconceptions surrounding OCD, breaking down how media portrayals and historic myths distort the true nature of the condition. By unpacking the lies and realities, we’ll gain a deeper understanding of the struggles those with OCD face and discuss how to foster more accurate and compassionate conversations about mental health.

The ADHD Self: Navigating Life After Adult Diagnosis
Getting an ADHD diagnosis—especially in adulthood—can bring relief, but it can also shake your sense of self. Many of us internalize feelings of inadequacy, guilt, or “wasted potential” before realizing how ADHD has shaped our lives. This talk explores how to process an ADHD diagnosis, reframe self-blame, and build confidence in your unique way of thinking. With practical strategies and mindset shifts, we’ll move from self-judgment to self-acceptance, embracing ADHD as part of who we are—not a flaw to be fixed.

Testimonials

"It was truly one of the best panel discussions I’ve seen recently and despite organising, I still felt like I walked away with new perspectives."

US Embassy

"Rowan was an absolute delight to welcome into our space. Her diligence and extensive preparation meant that she was professional and approachable in the delivery of her workshop for us on the experiences of Asexual and Aromantic people. The young persons were highly engaged with the session and left feedback reflective of the value that they gained from her presentation and activity."

Mosaic LGBTQ+ Youth Charity

"Rowan was a fantastically engaging chairperson during our Pride YA panel! She prioritised author care and attention to detail to curate an entertaining and educational book event."

Scholastic

"We were delighted to welcome Rowan to our panel on LBT+ women's mental health and wellbeing. Rowan spoke confidently and passionately on the representation of queer women in media, whilst reminding the panel of the potential pitfalls of non-realistic, overly positive portrayals of mental health, which can be a delicate balance. It was especially interesting to hear Rowan speak about identities seen less frequently on screen, such as asexuality. Rowan's videos are consistently well-polished, and evidently well-researched and her talent in public speaking is no different."

National LGBT Partnership

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Rowan as the host of our BFI Flare 2024 panel discussion “Dressed to Express: Storytelling through Costume” aimed at aspiring screen creatives aged 16-25. From the outset, Rowan demonstrated a deep understanding of our event’s theme and audience, effortlessly guiding the discussion towards practical insights and advice. Her ability to steer the conversation towards actionable tips while keeping the atmosphere warm and approachable truly elevated the experience of our attendees. Rowan’s warmth and approachability not only made her easy to work with, but helped put our panellists at ease, fostering an environment conducive to open and engaging dialogue. I’m excited to collaborate with Rowan again in the future and highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a skilled and personable event host."

The British Film Institute (BFI Southbank)

"A enlightening, inspiring and informative keynote. Rowan gave a powerful and inspiring presentation, but also weaved through a personal thread that was immensely moving."
