About Calum Clark
Calum Clark is a passionate and engaging speaker who is able to cover a broad range of topics due to his 14-year career as a professional rugby player.
Alongside his successes in Rugby, he also faced a number of significant challenges, including disciplinary issues, career-threatening injuries, playing bans, and off-field, personal issues. It was during these times that he experienced a lack of the professional expertise, support and guidance required to navigate them successfully.
These experiences prompted him to take action, completing an MSc in Psychology at the University of East London. He has since gone on to complete a second Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology and is an accredited coach with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Upon retiring, Calum began to apply his experience and education within the Saracens organisation firstly as Head of Player Development and Wellbeing, before moving on to become Head of Psychological Performance. His work was instrumental in the club’s 2022-23 premiership title-winning campaign, with a number of clients going on to excel at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Calum left Saracens in September 2023 to pursue his career as a high-performance psychologist, coach, and consultant. He set up his company – Innate High Performance – in order to broaden the scope and application of his work to reach those in other industries and sectors. Innate provide the services required to enable high-performing individuals, teams, and organisations to become truly exceptional.
Calum is also pursuing his passion for music, recently completing a music production course and performing as part of DJ duo Hîmba. The pair aim to combine music with principles and ideas from psychology in order to transform the experience of the listener. They have gotten off to a successful start, already headlining festivals in and around London and hosting their own series of events.
