About Kyran Bracken

Kyran Bracken made his debut against the All Blacks back in 1993, competing for the same place in the team as the likes of Austin Healey and Matt Dawson. Despite being plagued with injury, Kyran won a total of 51 international caps throughout his career. He went on to become one of the most highly respected players for his club and country, captaining England on three occasions.

Biography

Kyran Bracken began his professional rugby career slightly more unconventionally than most. In his first match against the All Blacks in 1993, Jamie Joseph famously stood on Kyran’s ankle. This being the first of numerous problems with injuries, Kyran still managed to achieve one of the most incredible sporting careers of all time.

Before becoming professional, Kyran balanced playing for Bristol with a career in law. He trialled for Ireland but was rejected and told to return in a few years. He did, however this time for the opposing team. He went on to play 170 times for Saracens, tour with the Lions and appear on numerous occasions for the Barbarians.

After his retirement, Kyran exchanged his rugby shirt for an all-in-one lycra and took part in ITV’s Dancing on Ice. He went on to win the series and even competed in follow-up show Dancing on Ice: Campion of Champions.

Outside of the worlds of rugby and skating, Kyran is an entrepreneur with a property portfolio that spans North London, Jersey, Ireland, and South Africa.
