Dr Linda Papadopoulos is a trusted voice with a distinguished career both on and off-screen. She promotes a philosophy underpinned by a wealth of experience and dedicated research that promotes and encourages people to develop healthy self-esteem and body image. She was recently awarded the prestigious EVCOM Fellowship Award in recognition of her outstanding academic publication record and for being an exceptional communicator, both as an author and broadcaster.
Dr Linda Papadopoulos is a Chartered Counselling and Health Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the BPS. She has worked in various treatment settings both privately, with her own practice and in the National Health Service. During her 14 years as a Chartered Psychologist, she has gained extensive experience in the counselling of individuals, couples and families. As well as an accomplished academic career where she set up and headed successful post-graduate programmes, she is also an active researcher and was at one time one of the youngest readers in the country based on her international academic publications. Her work has informed government policy, in 2010 she headed up a highly acclaimed independent review for the Home Office on the effects of sexualisation on young people. She was recently invited to present her research at the European Parliament in Brussles.
Dr Linda has a prolific academic publication record and has published widely in peer reviewed academic journals. Linda’s latest book, ‘Whose Life Is It Anyway?’ offers valuable insight and advice on living through your 20’s on your own terms. She has a specialist interest in body image and in the field of Psychodermatology where she has written extensively both for lay people and clinicians. She has written several academic and self-help books many of which have been translated into numerous languages, with her book ‘What Men Say, What Women Hear’ being published in 14 countries around the world. Dr. Linda is a contributing editor at ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine where she is a resident psychologist, her very popular monthly column has been running for many years now and much of her advice is often syndicated around the world. She also writes psychology and life style features for, and is also regularly quoted in, various national newspapers supplements and magazines.
Over the past decade, Dr. Linda has become one of the most well recognized faces on Television. Her comments regarding the psychology behind news and current events are often syndicated by the press and discussed by both TV and radio networks both in the UK and the US. She is a regular commentator on psychological issues in broadcast, radio and print media. She was part of the original Channel 4 team on the reality TV phenomenon ‘Big Brother’ and went on to host the Channel 5 shows ‘Doctor Doctor’ and ‘Double Cross’. Dr. Linda has fronted factual segments on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, BBC’s ‘The One Show’ and has also presented programmes and provided professional psychological commentary for numerous American and International television and radio networks including CNN, CBS, Discovery, CNBC, BBC International, VH1 and MTV to name a few.
Dr Linda was included in the Top 20 therapists in London by the ‘Evening Standard’ newspaper and was awarded the Madame Figaro Women of the Year Award in 2008 in the field of academia.
The third series of Dr Linda’s ‘My Naked Secret’ aired on TLC in 2014. The series tells the personal stories of people who are hiding physical abnormalities underneath their clothes and make-up. With the help of Dr Linda, they embark on a transformative and emotional journey in search of acceptance of their body. 2014 was busy for Dr Linda who has been appearing as the resident psychologist on ‘The Alan Titchmarsh Show’ for ITV, examining the differences between the male and female minds. Dr Linda Papadopoulos is also E-Harmony’s ambassador. With a prolific and distinguished career that she loves and which keeps her very busy, Dr. Linda values her free time with her husband and their daughter. As a psychologist and as a mother, Dr Linda is passionate that young women develop a healthy self-esteem and body image.
