About Caroline Strawson

Over a decade ago, Caroline Strawson left an abusive marriage and was made homeless with her two young children and over £70,000 worth of debt. What followed wasn’t just mental illness, it was 11 separate diagnoses, physical and mental, ranging from non alcoholic fatty liver disease to complex PTSD, depression, panic attacks, anxiety and self harm. Caroline was left a shell of herself and openly admits that, were it not for her children, she would not be here today. She rebuilt her life, her health and her finances back from the ground up and in doing so became a leader, powerful advocate and a voice in her own right. Today she carries zero diagnoses.

Caroline is passionate about abuse and mental health that leaves no visible bruises because invisible does not mean imagined. She has lived it, named it and built her business on making sure nobody else has to fight to be believed the way she did. She leads with the conviction of someone who is living proof that survival can become leadership and that the lowest point of a life is not the end of the story.

On stage, Caroline is direct, unflinching and impossible to look away from. She doesn’t shy away from the hardest parts of her story but she never lets a room sit in heaviness alone bringing humour to hard hitting topics in a way that lands in the heart, not just the head. Audiences leave with the truth about abuse, illness, leadership, mental health and recovery that most speakers won’t say out loud and with real hope because if Caroline can rebuild from zero with nothing left and nowhere to go, so can they.

Speech Topics

Homelessness, Debt, and Rebuilding from Rock Bottom
What it actually takes to rebuild a life from homelessness and £70,000 of debt, with two children and no safety net. A talk for anyone facing collapse, financial, relational, or personal about what real recovery demands.

Domestic Abuse and Coercive Control: Invisible Doesn’t Mean Imagined
Why the abuse that leaves no mark is the hardest to name, prove, and escape and why the systems meant to protect survivors are built to look for bruises, not patterns. Caroline’s most personal, most demanded talk.

Financial Abuse: The Debt That Isn’t Yours
How financial control operates as a silent, brutal arm of domestic abuse, told through Caroline’s own rebuild from £70,000 of debt with no system designed to help her understand what had been done to her.

Eleven Diagnoses to None
Eleven separate physical and mental illnesses, including non alcoholic fatty liver disease, complex PTSD, and self harm. Today, none. Caroline’s own arc challenges every audience, clinical, corporate, or public, to rethink what recovery actually means and who gets believed enough to access it.

Broken Systems: Why Survivors Are Failed Twice
An unflinching account of how legal, educational, healthcare, and policing systems are built to fail survivors of coercive control and what it would actually take to change that, from someone who has been on both sides of the system.

A Force to Be Reckoned With: Leading from Rock Bottom
How Caroline went from homeless, in debt, and chronically ill to building a multi million und business empire and a national campaign and what real leadership looks like when it’s forged in survival, not safety.

Leading Without Losing Yourself
For leaders, founders, and decision makers: why resilience isn’t the same as toughing it out, and how Caroline built a business empire and a CIC without repeating the patterns that nearly destroyed her. A talk on leadership, boundaries, and building something that doesn’t cost you yourself.
