International Women's Day 2021 Speakers
The 2021 International Women’s Day, celebrated on 8th March, will be like no other. Due to Covid, all events in the UK and most of the rest of the world will be delivered virtually to all attendees for the first time. Here at The Speakers Agency, we are honoured to list some of the most impressive female speakers on the planet.
This celebratory day which has been held each March for over 100 years helps to continue to forge a society dedicated to bringing about gender equality in all its forms. It also celebrates women’s continued achievements.
#ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021
Courageous female heroines, iconic female trailblazers and inspiring female leaders past and present continue to change the world for women everywhere. Their legacies, sacrifices and efforts empower other women to fight on for women’s rights as well as equal opportunities for all.
The Speakers Agency works with a number of these incredible women, booking them to speak and host at events for organisations around the globe. Demonstrating their fantastic achievements, they prove that anything is possible, and that glass ceilings are being shattered all around us.
We are passionate about our female speakers and are proud to feature a huge number of them on our website. These speakers include lawyers, astronauts, sports women, scientists and business women. The list below highlights just a few of our favourites:
Women in Business Speakers
Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge CBE is the vice chairman of West Ham United, a Peer in the House of Lords and features next to Lord Sugar as his advisor on the BBC hit show The Apprentice. In 2013 she was awarded a CBE for her contribution to women in business and entrepreneurship. She has won numerous awards and accolades – not least being named one of the most powerful people in sport, Businesswoman of the Year and most influential people in business in the UK.
Jo Fairley is the founder of chocolate company Green and Black’s, a company she started with just £20,000 of her savings, and grew into a brand worth $100 million worldwide. This was all done in less than 20 years. Despite its widespread global availability, Green & Black’s has retained its luxury cachet, and it was the only food brand to be featured in the UK’s CoolBrands Top 20.
Women in Sport
Gabby Logan is a BBC Sports Presenter and former professional gymnast. She is one of the key figure on television for all the major sporting events including the Olympics and World Cup. She is a passionate advocate of women in sport and is one of the most recognised faces on British sporting television.
Nicola Adams OBE was the first ever female Olympic boxing champion. She won golds in both the London and Rio Olympics and is a name now synonymous with the traditionally male-dominated sport. In addition to her incredible sporting achievements, Nicola has spoken openly about the challenges she has faced, both personal and professional. She is available for Q&A sessions only.
Women with Fascinating Careers
Laura Winterling is a physicist, a former astronaut instructor, entrepreneur and keynote speaker. Working for the European Space Agency for almost a decade she takes her audience on an incredible journey far up into the atmosphere. Using anecdotes and stories from working with astronauts she merges and carves a variety of relevant topics into her speeches. Most noteworthy, Laura presents predominantly in German and English and can also speak Russian and Italian.
Jo Salter was Britain’s first female fighter pilot flying the Tornado GR1 Fighter. At that point she was one of only 5 women fighter pilots in the world. Unsurprisingly she was described as “One of the 50 most inspiring women in the world” by Harpers & Queen.
