Denise Lewis OBE
Denise Lewis OBE is an accomplished presenter, broadcaster and speaker. She is also a former Olympic gold medal heptathlete (2000 Sydney Olympics) and President of Commonwealth Games England. Her favoured speech topics are diversity and empowering women.
About Denise Lewis OBE
Denise is one of the “golden girls” of British athletics. Inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011, Denise has twice been runner-up in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year awards.
Denise Lewis OBE is considered one of the BBCs most credible commentators. Covering many key athletics events including the 2012 Commonwealth Games and the London Olympics. Other events include the 2014 European Diamond League and the London Marathon. Since then, she has covered the European Team Championships, the World Athletics Championships, the 2016 Rio Olympics and the IAAF Championships. In 2018, Lewis commentated on the Commonwealth Games and represented England as the President of Commonwealth Games England.
Denise Lewis is also a TV presenter.
In addition, Denise has been involved in presenting a range of successful shows and documentaries. These include two series of Camp Orange for Nickelodeon, Dame Mary Peters BBC NI documentary, The Run of Her Life and The One Show. Guest slots include Sky Sportswoman and Celebrity Squares. Lewis recently fronted her fourth series of Right on the Money for the BBC and authored the documentary ‘Matron, Medicine and Me’.
Throughout her career, Denise has used her platform to discuss and promote diversity. She anchored the Woman of the Year Awards for ITV1’s Lorraine, and presented Winners for BBC Two, BBC World and News. She has also worked to promote Women in Work for International Women’s day. In addition, Denise shared her insights into being Black and British in the BBC Two Series ‘Black is the New Black’.
Denise has also taken on a number of roles of ambassador and patron for several initiatives, events and charities. In 2014, Denise was announced as ambassador for the Investec Epsom Derby and QIPCO Champions Day at Ascot. In the same year, Denise took on a similar ambassadorial role for 2014’s Telegraph Be: Fit event, a female health and fitness convention. Denise also works closely with Breast Cancer Care and Sparks. Finally, she is the President of Commonwealth Games England.
