About Beck House

Throughout her career, Beck held several critical roles, including 999 response driver, Public Protection Unit officer, and Family Liaison Officer for the Force Major Incident Team. However, it was her battle with a prescribed drug-induced psychotic episode that defined her commitment to mental health advocacy. Following a career-ending injury, Beck shared her experiences in her self-published book, Police to Paranoia, which details her mental health struggles, her time in the psychiatric unit, and her triumphant recovery. The book has resonated deeply with readers and those facing similar challenges.

Motivated by the impact her story had on others, Beck founded S.I.S. (Strength In Struggles), an organisation focused on providing mental health support through peer-to-peer groups, well-being walks, and one-to-one coaching. Drawing from her personal journey, Beck’s mission is to educate others about mental health, PTSD, and the power of recovery.

In addition to her work with S.I.S., Beck has become a prominent voice in mental health advocacy, appearing on podcasts, lecturing at Salford University, and raising funds for MIND. She is also developing a documentary based on Police to Paranoia in collaboration with major networks like SKY, and a Manchester-based theatre company is set to adapt her story for the stage.

Beck’s compelling story of overcoming adversity and her unwavering commitment to helping others make her an engaging and inspirational speaker, ideal for audiences seeking insights on mental health, resilience, and personal growth.
