About Tanya Beckett
Tanya Beckett is a British business and news presenter, conference facilitator and event host with extensive experience across international broadcast media and live corporate events. A former investment banker turned broadcaster, she draws on her background in finance, business and sales to host conferences, moderate discussions and facilitate business events.
Tanya began her career with the BBC in the early 2000s as a business presenter on BBC One’s “Breakfast” and presenter of “World Business Report” for “The World Today”. She has also presented and reported for BBC Two’s “Working Lunch”, BBC News 24, BBC World News and “Newsnight”. She later spent several years in New York and Washington DC as the BBC World US Business Anchor, fronting daily business and news programmes and presenting “BBC World News” on PBS.
Before joining the BBC, Tanya worked with broadcasters including NBC Europe, CNBC Europe, Sky News and CNN International. During her time with NBC Europe, she hosted a 30-minute interview programme featuring guests from politics, entertainment and the arts, including Chaim Herzog, Salman Rushdie, Ian Smith and Eddie Izzard.
Tanya studied Metallurgy and the Science of Materials at University of Cambridge and worked in engineering research for Courtaulds before moving into investment banking roles with Commerzbank in Frankfurt and Citibank in London. Fluent in both German and French, she regularly hosts and moderates events in multiple languages.
