From an early age, Nick was taught that being a philanthropist is not just about writing a cheque, it’s about holding a hand and doing whatever you can to help and make lives better for other people.
Nick’s life changed when his beloved mother Eleanor died of a stroke on the 31st of August 1997 – a significant date that would be remembered by many people across the world as the day that Diana Princess of Wales was killed.
Since 1998 Nick has spent countless hours of his time devoting his energy to making a difference.
Because he isn’t particularly sporty Nick decided to put on a party to raise awareness for the stroke. Thus followed 20 years of A Night With Nick, a starstudded party held in London that benefited the Stroke Association.
Nick canvassed celebrities and influential people to attend his events to get the word out that Stroke affects everyone and there is no cure. Since 1998 Nick has had support for his work from many household names including Kelly Osbourne, Zoella, Victoria Beckham OBE, Jamie Oliver, Andrea McLean, Denise Van Outen, Naomi Harris OBE, Konnie Huq, Vogue Williams, Dame Arlene Phillips, Patsy Palmer, Kelly Rowland, Lorraine Kelly MBE and respected brands including Swarovski and The Perfume Shop.
Nick has recently hosted the Kindness in Film Summit and hosted the global event KINDFEST 21 on world kindness day with Hello Magazine Editor Rosie Nixon in November and is host of the new Podcast Good Things Happen When You Wunder for the social media for good platform WUNDER.
As a live event presenter, Nick has a wealth of experience hosting at The Clothes Show Live, London Fashion Weekend, Pink London!, The Fragrance Foundation Awards, The Jewellery Awards, This Is Icon and many more.
With his wit and charm and quick ability to work a room Nick has built up a reputation for being one of the best in the business Nick’s work in the past 20 years has changed the lives of many people who have needed to have the support, help and energy that Nick gives to everything he does.
He has been recognised with numerous awards including the London Lifestyle Award (London Personality of the year), Scottish Fashion Awards (Communicator of the year, Fashion Philanthropist of the year), Life After Stroke Award for service to volunteering, Global Gift Award ( Philanthropist of the year) his agency East of Eden was a finalist for both PR Week’s Force for Good award and The Drum Scottish Event Awards for Charity Event of the Year.
He is a seasoned regular on Good Morning Britain and Sky News, commenting during the Paper Review section and on topical debates. Nick’s comments and observations on GMB have seen them populate news channels around the world including the New York Post and the Mail Online. Nick was the head judge on season three of Project Catwalk on Sky One offering advice and his opinionated views to the contestants and working alongside Kelly Osbourne which gave him the nickname ‘The Simon Cowell of Style’.
The show gave Nick an international appeal as it has been seen in Canada, the US and Europe. Nick went on to be a judge on the US Lifetime TV Show, 24 Hour Catwalk with Alexa Chung. He won Celebrity Ready Cook against Sinitta! and this keen interest in food led him to present food strands and gourmet guides for shows including Taste on Sky One and Market Kitchen on UK Food.
