About Magnus Lindkvist
Magnus Lindkvist is a Swedish trendspotter and futurologist and is one of the most thought-provoking speakers in the world today. His clients include Goldman Sachs, The BBC, MTV, KPMG, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s. Magnus is regarded as the person to turn to for insight into future trends. He mixes media formats and messages into a show about changes where he leaves people with a sense of purpose and action.
Magnus Lindkvist combines a dynamic presentation style with compelling content based on his three books, ‘Everything We Know Is Wrong’, ‘The Attack of the Unexpected’, and ‘When the Future Begins’. Magnus challenges our entire way of thinking about and looking towards the future. As a speaker, Magnus strives towards creating an experience, not just giving a talk.
Magnus Lindkvist asks two questions relentlessly: ’What’s going on in the world?’ and ’Where this all heading?” As a trendspotter and futurologist, these questions fuel Magnus’ curiosity and enable him to inspire and provoke the minds of audiences around the world.
Magnus founded his company, Pattern Recognition in 2005 employing a number of top trendsetters who help companies sort through the complexities of what’s ahead and how it will impact their future. He is an active contributor to TED, the technology, entertainment and design conference based in California with conferences held all over the world. In 2009, he won the ‘Business Speaker of the Year’ award in Sweden. He’s also created the world’s first academically accredited course in Trend spotting and Future Thinking at Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship. Magnus is a graduate of Stockholm School of Economics and UCLA School of Film, Television and Theatre, and has managed to fuse tangible data with the imaginative storytelling of Hollywood. The result is a journalist’s relentless curiosity, the rock-solid knowledge of an economist and the thirst of an unrelieved rock star to mesmerize an audience.
Magnus has published three books. The first, ‘Everything We Know Is Wrong’, is a handbook for spotting invisible trends, i.e., the kind of changes that hide far beyond news headlines and trend reports. The second book, ‘The Attack of The Unexpected’, is about the antidote to trends: random and unexpected events. His third book, ‘When the Future Begins’, is about how, why and when we think about the future and how we can do it better.
Magnus’s Background includes:
•MSc in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics.
•MFA in Film Studies, UCLA School of Film, Television and Theatre.
•Worked in advertising industry between 1998 and 2005 (at Differ, a brand strategy consultancy and at Grow Partners) handling global accounts for Toyota Motors, Carlsberg, Barclays Bank, Daimler, Lufthansa amongst others.

Testimonials
"We, EQT, has had the opportunity to have Magnus as a guest speaker on our Annual Investors Meeting (AIM). During long days with 20+ speeches it was very refreshing to have Magnus as our guest speaker. Not only being extra ordinary funny, Magnus made a lot of great points challenging “established” truths. During our 20 years having AIMs, Magnus has clearly been the best guest speaker we have had to date."
