Adam Kay
Adam Kay is a former doctor turned multi-award-winning author and comedian. Adam’s book ‘This Is Going to Hurt’ made him the best-selling non-fiction Author of the Century. In between his sold-out comedy tours, playing to over 250,000 people, Adam has entertained and spoken at every imaginable type of event – from intimate royal birthday parties at Buckingham Palace to huge conferences at ExCel London.
About Adam Kay
After working for a number of years in a high-pressure medical environment as an obstetrician and gynaecologist, Adam Kay left medicine for a career in comedy and writing. Now available for hosting, stand-up comedy and keynote speaking, Adam is hugely skilled at tailoring his performance to the style and theme of an event and getting it absolutely pitch-perfect every time.
Adam’s no-holds-barred diaries from his time as a junior doctor were the basis of his hit book This is Going to Hurt. This hilarious, horrifying and heart-breaking book has sold over two million copies in the UK, been translated into 38 languages, spending a record-breaking number of months at number in the Sunday Times bestseller list, and winning numerous accolades, including Book of the Year at the National Book Awards.
His second book, Twas the Nightshift before Christmas was another huge success, and Adam became the first author to have simultaneous Sunday Times number ones in paperback and hardback. This is Going to Hurt has been adapted by Adam into a comedy-drama for the BBC starring Ben Whishaw.

In addition to hosting, keynote speaking and after-dinner speaking, Adam is also in huge demand for his Musical Cabaret performances. Performing hilarious medical-themed songs on his piano, and reading excerpts from his book, Adam’s Cabaret style performance is essentially a shortened version of his best-selling, award-winning tour show.
