How to book an after dinner speaker
An after dinner is a hugely important part of any successful dinner or awards ceremony. Whether you’d prefer a comedic speech, something anecdotal, a witty, satirical presentation, or an exciting life experience story, selecting the perfect after-dinner speaker is paramount.
The Speakers Agency use a refined booking process that has been established over many years to provide endless audiences with high calibre after-dinner speakers.
Follow the simple steps below to secure your perfect after-dinner speaker today!
Compile a brief
The first step towards securing an after-dinner speaker for your event is to put together a brief which compiles all the information about your event. This includes information such as if the event is live or virtual, the venue, the audience size and demographic and your available budget. Including additional info such as event marketing (if any) and whether your session needs to be recorded is also really useful! Once you have compiled your brief, make sure to send it to us either via our contact form, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on +44 (0) 1332 810481.
Browse our suggestions
Upon receiving your event brief, The Speakers Agency can provide you with a shortlisted set of recommendations of after-dinner speakers that fit all your specific requirements. We will direct you to their website pages so you can view their speech topics, watch videos of them speaking, and browse our suggestions freely. Our selection of incredible after-dinner speakers includes comedians, adventurers, journalists, broadcasters, authors, politicians and many more.
Once you have browsed our recommendations, you can select the speaker who most appeals to you and your specific audience.
Confirm the booking
Once you have selected your choice of speaker, The Speakers Agency will get the ball rolling on confirming the booking and providing you with a contract to sign. Once you have secured your after-dinner speaker, you will then be entitled to a maximum 30-minute briefing call prior to the event in order to chat with the speaker directly about event specificities etc.
*On certain occasions, usually for a very high-profile speaker, we will require you to sign a Firm Offer Form in advance which is slightly different to our usual Booking Form. In simple terms, this commits you to the booking at a slightly earlier stage than signing a normal Booking Contract. It serves as a formal and binding offer to the speaker and lets them know that if they accept the invitation to speak or host, this is essentially a done deal that you are already committed to proceeding with. In most cases, this is not necessary, but do not hesitate to ask one of our friendly booking agents if you would like further clarity on how this works!
