About Stephanie Laing
Stephanie Laing is a stand-up comedian turned community organiser turned comedian again, bringing a rare and powerful perspective to the stage. With over 15 years’ experience in comedy, Stephanie discovered that humour is not something to leave behind in serious spaces, but a vital tool for connection, resilience and real change. Her talks explore the value of finding what’s ridiculous in the structures we challenge, and why joy is essential for sustaining movements and preventing burnout.
Alongside her work on stage, Stephanie has extensive experience supporting organisations to strengthen internal culture and leadership. She holds a Master’s degree in Community Organising from Queen Mary University and spent three years leading the Milton Keynes branch of Citizens UK, a charity focused on developing local leaders and enabling communities to engage more meaningfully in democracy.
Stephanie’s work also includes executive education, having managed senior leadership programmes across Europe and the Middle East at Duke Corporate Education. In 2023, she delivered a TEDx talk on the role of humour in social change, highlighting her ability to blend comedy with insight and practical application.
Now combining these worlds, Stephanie delivers engaging keynotes and bespoke team-building experiences on social justice, community organising, communication and resilience. Warm, thoughtful and refreshingly honest, she helps organisations explore how humour, purpose and joy can sit at the heart of meaningful and sustainable change.
