Sharon MacArthur ‘Miss Menopause’
Miss Menopause began educating companies about the menopause nearly 6 years ago in response to the lack of information about menopause in the workplace. Sharon MacArthur 'Miss Menopause' works with organisations large and small on everything menopause and wellbeing.
About Miss Menopause
It is currently estimated less than 10% of companies across the UK are educating their workforce about the symptoms and impact that menopause may bring. Miss Menopause has one goal: to fill the void of educational services needed by working women as they reach the menopause.
The average age that the menopause starts is 51, however symptoms of perimenopause may begin many years before. Mental health issues can often arise due to menopause as well as a host of other symptoms. Everyone could be impacted by menopause in some way so best practice is to include everyone.
With millions of days being lost to presenteeism, which is driving down productivity, this is often a hidden problem in companies. As our workforce ages, this is set to increase.
Miss Menopause offers an interactive session to help audiences learn and understand what makes menopause a wellbeing and ED&I matter and offers the chance to have your questions answered.
She has appeared on BBC Breakfast, ITN News, Channel 5 and Victoria Derbyshire and is a regular on BBC Radio taking about the subject of menopause.

Testimonials
"Just wanted to say thank you for inviting me promptly to the Menopause Training – what a good session it was! very helpful and Sharon was a great host, very engaging and entertaining!"
"The content was fantastic full of energy, extremely engaging and thought-provoking. However what I didn’t expect was the emotional side – as husband, son and father of two daughters I have to confess I have been rather blind to this topic other than knowing it happens, with perceptions probably defined in a slightly out of date and misinformed frame. So once again thank you both for organising then running the session which has started some unexpected (but positive) thought processes in the business collective mind and my own thought processes."
"Sharon is very good at what she does, the subject matter is a difficult one to handle & because of that, the audience can be apprehensive about what to expect. From the moment that you walk in the room, she is aware that she has put people at ease & quickly wants to get them on board by lightening the mood."
"Sharon provides a very entertaining, passionate and engaging style to get across a difficult, & somewhat misunderstood subject - enjoyed the short thought provoking training course which allows senior management post-training to question its understanding, approach and support for all affected or impacted by the menopause."
"I thought the course was fun, informative and educational. I was also able to relate some of the symptoms to a family member, which helps me try to understand and relate to the individual and provide support."
"It's safe to say that this session left a lasting impression on all who attended. The valuable insights gained are already being put into practice, thanks to the combination of Sharon's expertise and the engaging session design."
"Sharon's role in the success of the session cannot be overstated. Her expertise on the subject matter was evident in the depth of her explanations and responses to queries. Her command over the topic instilled confidence in the participants and ensured that accurate information was conveyed throughout the session."
"What truly set this session apart was the engaging and enjoyable delivery style. Sharon's approach made the session far from ordinary – it was dynamic, interactive, and enjoyable from start to finish. Her ability to infuse elements of fun into the training while still maintaining the gravity of the topic was truly remarkable. This blend created an environment that encouraged active participation, questions, and discussions."
"The training session on menopause was not only highly informative but also impeccably pitched. The content covered a broad spectrum of topics related to menopause, ensuring that there was something of value for everyone in attendance. It was evident that the session was thoughtfully curated to cater to the varied needs and interests of the participants."
"Excellent presentation and training, very informative. Generally one of the most well-presented training courses I have ever seen. I am now enlightened so much... has changed my way of thinking and opinion on the subject."
"The presentation skills of Sharon are fantastic, she puts you at ease straight off the bat & has tremendous knowledge & insight of the issues surrounding menopause. Not only how it affects the individual but how it affects their relationships with close family & friends. I found out so much in 2 hours I couldn’t help but put some of the information I received into practice, firstly talking to my partner, then with friends' wives & female colleagues at work."
