A multi-award-winning former BBC and ITV journalist, he founded Status Social, one of the world’s first specialist social media consultancies, and later launched Positive Social, a ground-breaking national charity helping children navigate the digital world. About Mark Saxby

Mark Saxby delivers thought-provoking, humorous, and practical talks that inspire audiences to rethink their relationships with social media. Whether speaking to businesses, schools, or conference audiences, Mark brings a unique blend of expertise, real-world experience, and unforgettable storytelling.

Acknowledged as being one of the UK’s top social media experts, Mark has won multiple awards since creating Status Social in 2011. So far, Mark and his team have generated more than £20m in sales through social media.

Mark founded Positive Social with his wife, Kerry, in 2020. The now-national charity runs interactive classes in schools, helping children make better decisions about how they use social media. More than 10,000 children have already gone through a Positive Social session.

As well as seeing the negative impact of social media and phones on children, Mark recognises that adults also need help. Through his ground-breaking Be More Colin, talks, Mark helps teams to enjoy a better relationship with social media and their phones, leading to better mental health, increased job satisfaction and improved productivity.

Mark is a born storyteller and adventurer. His talks include tales of daring journalism and celebrity-encounters. Plus he talks about the time he helped Azerbaijan win the Eurovision Song Contest while disguised as a Moldovan. Not to mention his campaign to rid the world of quiche.

He also created the world’s first professionally-run Social Media Weddings service –covered in the international press – and turned down the world’s most famous footballer after being asked to manage his social media.

Mark has been featured many times on the BBC, ITV and in the national press. He’s worked with some of the world’s best-known companies and has a large social media following.
