About Marica Binns

Marica Binns, CMH.HC.MNCS, is a distinguished clinical psychotherapist with a dynamic background. Her journey spans over two decades as a cabaret singer, combining stand-up comedy with music in various venues, before transitioning to academia in her late thirties. After five years of dedicated study, she emerged as a qualified psychotherapist, later leading a psychological team at a West Yorkshire hospice for twenty years. Now semi-retired, Marica runs a private practice, addressing a broad range of mental health issues.

Marica balances her professional life with her roles as a wife, mother, and doting grandmother. Renowned for her ease on stage, she is not just a motivational speaker and trainer within the NHS and other organisations, but also a compelling storyteller. Her talk, ‘Confessions of a Psychotherapist,’ blends humor with insights from her therapy sessions. In her presentations, Marica addresses common mental health challenges, offering practical coping strategies, interspersed with intriguing anecdotes and enlivened with her musical talent, leaving audiences both enlightened and entertained.
