Kerry Daynes
Kerry Daynes is TV's most authentic and recognised forensic psychologist. She is also a Sunday Times bestselling author of The Dark Side of the Mind. A regular TV presenter, campaigner and unforgettable speaker, Kerry speaks on the topics of mental wellbeing, compassionate leadership and resilience & growth in the face of adversity. Kerry Daynes has a unique flair in communicating her expertise and messages in a way that audiences love to hear. Having spent over twenty-five years on the frontline of the criminal justice and mental health systems her credentials are first class.
Kerry Daynes is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. A Health & Care Professions Council Registered and Practitioner Forensic Psychologist. She is also a Chartered Scientist.
Kerry began her career working in high-security prisons and secure hospitals. During this time, she earned the dubious honour of having worked closely with many of Britain’s most notorious criminals. She set up her own forensic psychology practice in 2002 after she was invited to act as behavioural analyst in major police investigations. Furthermore, she became a trusted court-appointed expert and advisor to government agencies. Moving into more mainstream mental health recovery services in 2013 Kerry currently works with organisations, groups and individuals.
Her warm, practical style combined with her standing as a true expert has attracted high-profile business leaders, sports personalities and celebrities as private clients.
A much in demand TV contributor, Kerry is ‘The Profiler’ on Discovery Investigation’s award nominated Faking It documentaries. The fourth series of Faking It will be aired in the autumn of 2020. Kerry has also written numerous articles in the national press and she acts as a consultant to TV/film crime drama scripts.

Kerry published her first book ‘Is There a Psycho In Your Life? in 2011 . Her #1 bestselling memoir The Dark Side of the Mind: True Stories From My Life as a Forensic Psychologist was published in 2019. The paperback was published in February 2020. It has been described as “unforgettable and unputdownable” (Dame Sue Black) and “funny, wise and thoroughly gripping” (Jake Kerridge).

Chosen as one of BBC Science Focus’ Inspiring Women in Science (2018) Kerry is a passionate advocate for better conversations about mental wellbeing. She is a patron of The National Centre for Domestic Violence and Talking2Minds, a charity assisting former military and emergency services personnel with post-traumatic stress conditions. Following a very long stalking ordeal, Kerry has become an outspoken campaigner for improved laws and an effective response from the criminal justice system to this pervasive problem.
