About Eliza McClelland
Eliza McClelland, following her training at drama school, has worked extensively all over the country. Her theatre work includes ‘The Clandestine Marriage’ at the Bristol Old Vic, ‘Home and Beauty’ and ‘Dr. Faustus’ at The Oxford Playhouse, ‘Private Lives’ and ‘Top Girls’ at The Leicester Haymarket and She has enjoyed touring throughout England in Shakespeare, Wilde, Coward, Maugham and Ayckborne. She has done countless commercials and hundreds of radio plays.
Eliza McClelland has a diverse wealth of credits. She starred in the one woman show ‘Female Parts’ at Worcester, which later transferred into The Arts Theatre, London. She was also in ‘Noises Off’ and ‘Peer Gynt’ at The Everyman Cheltenham. Eliza’s television work includes ‘Constance Kent’, ‘Peak Practice’, ‘Casualty’, ‘The Inspector Lynley Mysteries’, ‘Tickets for the Titanic’ and many more.
Like many an actress, Eliza sat in theatre dressing rooms chatting, drinking coffee and stitching. This resulted in the production of her book, ‘Traditional Beadwork’, which is a collection of tapestry designs taken from the lovely places of interest she encountered on tour. This in turn sparked her talk based around a huge patchwork quilt of offcuts from theatre costumes; it is filled with theatre anecdotes, tales of a touring actress and includes a suitcase jam-packed with sassy and glamorous beadwork to pass round.
