Julie Peasgood wrote, directed and presented ‘A Buyer’s Guide to Spain’ and ‘Hot Zones’, hosted the gardening series ‘Turf Wars’, and her second series of ‘Bootsale Challenge’ achieved record ratings.
Julie Peasgood has enjoyed an incredible career as an actress which has spanned over forty-five years. She has worked extensively in the West End and spent five years with The Royal Shakespeare Company. Her long list of TV credits include Russell T Davies’s Years and Years, Casualty, Taggart, Luv, The Survivors, The Bill, Holby City, First Born, Boon, Chains of Love, Doctors and September Song, but she is probably best known for having been a regular in no less than three soaps: as Barry Grant’s ill-fated girlfriend Fran in Brookside, motorbike-riding Jo in Emmerdale and the outrageous Jacqui in Hollyoaks. She is also responsible for putting the ‘Pop’ in the Birds Eye Peas commercials, and her distinctive voice has made her one of the country’s top voice-over artists, with several hundred TV and radio commercials to her name.
As a TV presenter, Julie brought her warmth and humour to The Alan Titchmarsh Show as his resident relationships expert for three years. She has been a guest presenter on Loose Women and regularly reviewed the papers on The Steve Allen Show for LBC. Other presenting credits include This Morning where she was guest co-presenter; gardening series Turf Wars; collectables series Bootsale Challenge and she wrote, directed and presented A Buyer’s Guide to Spain and co-presented Cruise Today for the Travel Channel.
Julie also gives talks on a variety of subjects: from her career, to a Memory Makeover and even antique teddy bears! She is an outstanding and experienced host for corporate events and award ceremonies.
A regular writer about travel and lifestyle for Metro and the Mail on Sunday, Julie has been Contributing Editor for Cruise International magazine for the last nine years. For the last five years she has also written monthly columns in Crafts Beautiful and Group Leisure and Travel magazines, and her latest column is in Make and Sew Toys, where she interviews celebrities about their treasured childhood toys.
In 2018 Julie launched her own company which employs a range of specialist craft tutors to deliver unique, leading edge workshops on worldwide cruises. Offering an exciting, diverse and inspirational range of craft activities, many of the workshops – such as stained glass, mosaics, aluminium art, needle felting, bookbinding, vintage china dioramas and lino printing – have never been available at sea before.
