About Dr. Phil Hammond
Known for his dynamic and entertaining style, Phil has been Private Eye’s medical correspondent since 1992, campaigning for patient empowerment and transparency in healthcare. His investigative work on NHS whistleblowers earned him a nomination for the prestigious Martha Gellhorn Prize for Investigative Journalism.
As a broadcaster, Phil has presented five series of Trust Me, I’m a Doctor on BBC2 and is a familiar face on Have I Got News for You, The News Quiz, Countdown, and The One Show. He’s also a popular voice on BBC Radio Bristol, where he explores health and wellbeing with humor and insight.
Phil’s comedic talent shines in his stand-up shows and Radio 4 sitcom Polyoaks, a sharp satire on NHS reforms.
