Speech Topics

Mental Fitness for All

In this talk, Dr Alex George explores why so many people were never given the tools to properly care for their mental and physical health. Drawing on his expertise in mental fitness, he introduces a practical framework designed to help individuals unlock their full potential.

Using the analogy of the brain as hardware and mental health as software, Alex provides science-backed strategies to strengthen both. The session equips audiences with simple, actionable habits that can lead to lasting, positive change—encouraging them to take the first step towards improving their overall wellbeing.

Men’s Mental Health: Everyone’s Business

Dr Alex George challenges traditional perceptions of mental health, encouraging audiences to view it not just as illness, but as something that can be actively developed—much like physical fitness.

Through a combination of personal insight, professional expertise and evidence-based strategies, he explores how building mental fitness can lead to greater resilience, stronger relationships and improved wellbeing. He also shares the thinking behind co-founding Mettle, offering practical tools to help individuals and organisations better support men’s mental health.

The Productivity Paradox: Science Has the Answer

In this thought-provoking talk, Dr Alex George explores why working harder is not the solution to improving productivity. Instead, he highlights the importance of purpose, fulfilment and wellbeing as the true drivers of performance.

Drawing on insights from his books and research, Alex introduces five key pillars of sustainable productivity. Combining scientific understanding with practical strategies, he demonstrates how organisations can improve performance, reduce burnout and support long-term growth by prioritising employee wellbeing.

Building Resilience and Dealing with Change

In this talk, Dr Alex George explores how change is inevitable, but how individuals respond to it determines whether they grow or struggle. In a fast-moving world, he reframes resilience not just as a personal trait, but as a skill that can be developed.

Drawing on his expertise in mental fitness and health, Alex examines the science behind resilience—why some people thrive under pressure while others experience burnout. He shares practical, evidence-based strategies to help individuals adapt, recover and perform at their best.

Audiences will learn how to reframe setbacks, build emotional flexibility and turn uncertainty into opportunity. The session highlights that resilience is not about avoiding stress, but about learning how to manage and harness it effectively.

Embracing Neurodivergence

In this honest and empowering talk, Dr Alex George explores the reality that around one in five people are neurodivergent, yet many remain undiagnosed or misunderstood. Drawing on his own experience as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent individual, he offers insight into what it means to understand and embrace a mind that works differently.

Blending personal story with research and lived experience, Alex explores the breadth of neurodivergence and the many ways individuals process the world. He examines challenges such as masking and stigma, while highlighting the everyday experiences faced by neurodivergent people.

The session also focuses on how workplaces and wider society can become more inclusive and supportive. By recognising and supporting neurodivergent individuals, organisations can not only reduce barriers but also unlock valuable creativity, strengths and talent.
