About Danny Crates

A sought-after speaker, Danny brings over 25yrs experience delivering keynotes around the globe and his presentations are assured to leave audiences motivated, inspired, and equipped for success.

After losing his right arm in a horrific accident at just 21 years old, Danny was determined to overcome that huge hurdle in his life, focus on the future and regain his positive mental attitude. Danny’s resilience, drive and determination saw him back on the rugby field within 6 months and shortly after into Paralympic sport, quickly dominating – famously winning gold in the men’s 800 metres at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, a year which also saw him set a new world record. It was the highlight of a glittering international career that saw Danny win every major title in the sport, including the World Championships, European Championships and Paralympic World Cup.  20yrs on and Danny still holds the British 800m record.

Drawing on his personal experiences and the insights gained from participating in elite sports and collaborating with businesses globally, Danny specialises in understanding the building blocks needed to create a high-performance culture and mindset within organisations.

Danny conveys the importance of setting goals and, most importantly, the strategies to attain them. Danny’s presentations are built around his unique personal story and his powerful ‘5 pillars of performance’ a dynamic tool that can be seamlessly utilised by any business or organisation. He is also a sought-after event host, established leadership and performance coach, published author and TV presenter, founder and owner of a high-performance consultancy, 1404 Performance.
