About Christine Armstrong
Christine Armstrong is a distinguished researcher, author, and vlogger specialising in the future of work. With a unique blend of world-class data analysis, engaging interviews, and dynamic presentations, Christine delves into the evolving landscape of business practices. Her expertise encompasses six new models of work, the productivity paradox, communication overload, boundary challenges, flexible work, burnout, and resilience.
Christine is the author of the acclaimed book “The Mother of All Jobs: How to Have Children and a Career and Stay Sane(ish)”, published by Bloomsbury. This book, a finalist in the Business Book UK Awards 2019, draws from six years of interviews with working parents, employers, leadership experts, and carers. Christine’s sessions and workshops, inspired by her book, address critical topics such as women and work, working dads, and the challenges of working while parenting.
Before establishing her consultancy, Armstrong & Partners, Christine co-founded Jericho Chambers, a pioneer in flexible and hybrid work. Her consultancy aids businesses in navigating an uncertain and disrupted world, focusing on workplace evolution over the past two decades. Christine’s insights highlight the successes and failures of diversity and inclusion strategies, workplace culture, productivity myths, and the demands of being a working parent. Her work also explores the post-Covid-19 workplace dynamics, balancing remote and office work, and addressing the varied needs of different age groups and personality types.
Christine’s journey began at York University, where she studied politics. Post-graduation, she worked with companies like APCO Worldwide, BBDO Worldwide, and Penn Schoen Berland across London, Washington DC, and Toronto. During this period, she balanced her career with raising three children, an experience that deeply informs her work today.
Her thought leadership extends to publications such as The Times, The Telegraph, Management Today, and Grazia, and she is a frequent guest on Radio 4’s Women’s Hour. Christine’s 2021 keynote at the IAB UK Leadership Conference was highly acclaimed, addressing the pandemic’s impact on work-life balance and company adaptation. In 2022, she hosted and spoke at KPMG UK’s first all-partner conference post-lockdown, presenting on hybrid and remote working’s benefits for company culture and productivity.
Currently, Christine and her team are researching employee responses to the cost-of-living crisis and its implications for the workplace. At Armstrong & Partners, she combines meticulous data analysis with engaging content to ensure her audiences are both informed and entertained. Christine offers keynote talks, workshops, in-depth research, and writings tailored to specific audiences, making her a sought-after voice in the discussion on the future of work.
