Bennett Arron
Award-Winning Comedian Bennett Arron was in serious debt. He owed thousands to phone companies, banks and department stores. Only it wasn’t him. Bennett had become the first major victim of Identity Theft in the UK which left him penniless and homeless. Bennett now speaks at conferences, expos and corporate events around the world on the subjects of identity theft, fraud and cyber security.
About Bennett Arron
Years after Bennett was a victim of Identity Theft, he was asked to write, direct and present a Channel 4 Documentary on the subject. The programme, ‘How To Steal An Identity’ was chosen as ‘Pick of the Week’ in all the major Press and described as ‘Fascinating and Disturbing’. In the programme Bennett proved the ease of the crime by first stealing the identities of the general public and then stealing identity of the British Home Secretary. As a result of the programme, the UK Driving Licence Application Form had to be reprinted – and Bennett was shortlisted for a BAFTA.
In addition to his talks on cybersecurity and fraud, Bennett is also a sought after keynote speaker for management and staff at various companies to warn them, in a humorous and memorable way, about the dangers of phishing, vishing smishing etc. He also writes and presents in-house videos on the subject which have proven to be an incredibly successful way of putting the message across without preaching or scaring.
Available also as a stand-up comedian, event and awards host, and entertaining after dinner speaker, Bennett is as versatile as they come. He supported Ricky Gervais on various tour dates. As well as performing to audiences all around the UK he has also entertained audiences in Hong Kong, Amsterdam, South Africa, Greece, Italy and Australia. He has written and presented two television documentaries and three radio series. He is a past presenter on BBC 3 Counties Radio and he recently starred as Morris in all 4 series of the Radio 4 Sitcom ALONE.
Bennett has appeared as a Fraud Expert on Sky, Channel 4, ITV and the BBC and he recently received an “Unsung Hero Award” for his work in Fraud and Cyber Security.
