Adrian Chiles

Adrian played a central role in launching some of the BBC’s best-known programmes, including The One Show, Match of the Day 2, The Apprentice: You’re Fired and Working Lunch. He went on to co-present ITV’s Daybreak alongside his long-standing on-screen partner Christine Bleakley. Between 2010 and 2015, he fronted ITV’s football coverage, presenting the Champions League, European Championships, two World Cups and England internationals. During this period, he also presented three series of That Sunday Night Show.

Radio has been an equally important part of Adrian’s career. His presenting credits include BBC Radio 4’s Financial World Tonight and BBC Radio 5 Live’s Wake Up to Money, 6-0-6 and Friday drivetime programme. His show Chiles on Saturday won a Sony Radio Academy Gold Award in 2002. His work on BBC Radio 5 Live and his columns for The Guardian and The Sun demonstrate his ability to find engaging stories in both major news events and everyday life.

Alongside his live broadcasting work, Adrian has presented documentaries exploring business, society, religion and personal wellbeing. These include Asian Millionaires, Royal Millions, What Ron Said and Whites vs Blacks: How Football Changes a Nation. In My Mediterranean with Adrian Chiles, he explored religious festivals and customs across the region, while his work for Panorama included an investigation into the reasons Britain voted to leave the European Union. He has also been a regular presenter on Countryfile since 2021.

Adrian’s critically acclaimed BBC documentary Drinkers Like Me examined his own relationship with alcohol and prompted wider conversations about drinking habits. He followed it with his book The Good Drinker, published in 2022. In 2024, he published The Curious Columns of Adrian Chiles, bringing together his distinctive observations on everyday life. His television appearances also include Room 101, Would I Lie to You?, Have I Got News for You and Insert Name Here.
