Roger Flynn

Roger Flynn is a recognised business transformation expert, investor and former CEO with an exceptional track record of leading large-scale change across global organisations. Passionate about transforming organisations, markets and business models, Roger shares practical insight into leadership, disruption and delivering transformational change in fast-moving industries.

Throughout his career, Roger has driven major transformation programmes across some of the world’s most recognised organisations, including Virgin, British Airways, Prudential, the BBC and SDI Media. He began his career working directly with Sir Richard Branson at Virgin, developing new business ideas and commercial opportunities before becoming Commercial Director of Virgin Communications, where he played a key role in launching Virgin Radio and growing the company’s media interests.

At British Airways, Roger transformed the airline’s £1.2 billion global distribution system, helped pioneer electronic ticketing and led the launch of ba.com across 72 countries simultaneously, helping reshape airline distribution. Later, as Managing Director of Prudential Retail, he joined shortly after the pensions mis-selling scandal and led an ambitious transformation programme across products, systems, distribution and culture for a business serving six million customers.

Roger later became Chief Executive of BBC Ventures Group and a member of the BBC Main Board, leading the transformation and eventual sale of several BBC commercial businesses, generating more than £1 billion in value. He subsequently led SDI Media Group, a global film and television services business operating across 32 countries, accelerating growth through acquisitions before overseeing its successful sale.

Alongside his executive career, Roger has invested in and chaired businesses across media, travel and technology, including luxury travel platform loveholidays.com, where he helped guide the business through extraordinary growth to become one of the UK’s leading online travel companies before its £180 million sale.
