About Peter Suchet
Peter Suchet enjoyed a stellar career in London’s advertising agency scene during the 80s and 90s, which included amongst others Saatchi & Saatchi. He speaks extensively about his career, the creation of Fantasy Football and hailing from the hugely talented Suchet Dynasty. An accomplished speaker and business presenter, Peter delivers his speeches in a warm, articulate, and humorous style.
Peter Suchet is part of a whose lives are interconnected with major trends and events in social history: Jack Suchet (b 1908 – the brothers` father) was a famous obstetrician and gynaecologist who worked with Sir Alexander Fleming co-authoring academic papers with him on the refinement of Penicillin. He had a stellar patient list of household names and there are some wonderful and insightful stories about the development of medicine in his field, including infamous test cases in Britain up until the late 60s.
James Jarche, the Suchet`s maternal grandfather, was an iconic Fleet Street photo-journalist from the first half of the 20th Century – ITV recently screened a film about him and his body of work – who took remarkable and instantly recognisable photos of historic figures (the first ever `scoop` of Edward and Mrs Simpson together, Dr Crippen and Ethel Le Neve in the dock; the only colour pictures of the Queen’s Coronation and the famous shot of Churchill at the siege of Sidney Street). Peter excels in the stories behind the photos as his grandfather was a remarkable character – full of derring-do who got very close to his subjects – revealing a hidden side to many of Britain`s well-known personalities as well as photographs that shed light on the changing social history of Britain and Europe. His career began in 1909 when he photographed Louis Bleriot, the first man to fly across the English Channel, and ended in 1960 with shots of Tommy Steele on the set of his first film! His autobiography – and the title of the ITV film – is “People I Have Shot”.
Peter Suchet’s Career
As a former Director of Saatchi & Saatchi (as well as a career in some of the UK`s top advertising agencies) Peter speaks on the heyday of that company – and the racy London advertising scene of the 80s and 90s – revealing the secrets of successful advertising and the unknown back stories of some of the world’s most iconic campaigns.
As the creator of Fantasy Football in his capacity as the Sports Marketing Director at the Daily Telegraph, he advises on how to develop leading marketing campaigns and is a guest lecturer on the Communications, Advertising and Marketing Diploma Course and a tutor at the European School of Communication.
His broadcasting experience includes cricket, golf and football reporting for BBC Radio London, and hosting Fantasy Football and Fantasy Rugby World Cup features for TalkSport and BBC Radio Five, and for numerous local radio stations.
Peter is also a popular and experienced voiceover artist.
