About Dudley ‘Tal’ Stokes
A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and former pilot in the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing, Dudley was already a high achiever before taking on the seemingly impossible challenge of creating Jamaica’s first Winter Olympic team. After the team’s dramatic crash at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary — watched by an estimated one billion viewers worldwide — Dudley faced a period of disappointment and depression before rebuilding both himself and the team with renewed focus and determination.
Under his leadership, the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team transformed from Olympic underdogs into genuine international competitors, rising to become one of the world’s top-ranked teams within just six years despite operating on a fraction of the budget of their rivals. Their extraordinary story of resilience, belief, teamwork and perseverance captured global attention and became one of the most iconic sporting stories of modern times.
Today, Dudley is a respected keynote speaker who shares powerful lessons on motivation, leadership, peak performance, resilience and overcoming adversity. Combining humour, humility and real-world experience, he inspires audiences with practical insights into mental strength, teamwork and achieving success against the odds. He also speaks passionately about the connection between physical wellbeing and mental health, encouraging sustainable approaches to performance both personally and professionally.

Client Feedback
"Dudley was so personable and humble; he spoke with a real charm that resonated with a number of colleagues. He had some great nuggets of information and some great mantras that struck a chord (such as live a life that matters). He handled the Q&A very well as there were lots of questions asked of him (a sign of how engaging he was that people wanted to know more)."
