About Belinda Parmar

As CEO of The Empathy Business, Belinda Parmar OBE has spent two decades turning human behaviour into tangible business results. Her clients have included Barclays, Lloyds Bank, Lexus, Toyota, Aston Martin, AGL and AB InBev, with programmes delivering improvements in customer satisfaction, efficiency and employee performance.

Her pioneering Global Empathy Index, published in Harvard Business Review, connected organisational empathy with earnings, productivity and retention. At Barclays, her Empathy & Empowerment Programme delivered a 9% uplift in Net Promoter Scores alongside a 7.5% reduction in call handling times, while her work with AGL contributed to a 20.9% reduction in customer complaints and $1.7 million in cost savings.

A qualified barrister, World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and Non-Executive Director at the Ministry of Defence, Belinda brings an unusual combination of behavioural insight, commercial evidence and board-level experience to the stage.

Her current work examines leadership in the AI era and why qualities such as empathy, integrity and emotional intelligence are becoming more valuable as technology advances. She is currently writing a book for Penguin Random House that transforms these ideas into a practical leadership toolkit for the future of work.

Speech Topics

Human Leadership in an AI World

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we live and work, yet it cannot replicate the essence of what makes us human: our ability to connect, to feel, and to lead with empathy. In this keynote, Belinda Parmar OBE explores what human leadership means in an AI-driven world, drawing on her experience working with organisations across the United States, Australia, South Africa, and the UK, and how leaders navigate complexity where trust, technology, and human judgement collide.

Belinda will answer three big questions:

  1. Can AI fake feelings, and what does that mean for trust in organisations?
  2. How can leaders use empathy as a measurable, practical tool rather than a soft skill?
  3. What does human leadership look like in the age of algorithms, automation, and constant change?
