About Simon Hayes
Simon began coaching motorsport drivers in 1991, initially working in Touring Cars and Formula 3 before consulting for Williams and McLaren in Formula 1. His career has since taken him across the UK, Europe and the United States, supporting drivers across some of the world’s most demanding racing series.
At the heart of Simon’s approach is an understanding that performance is individual. Just as a race engineer examines how to improve a car, Simon explores how people can develop their capabilities through preparation and training tailored to their needs. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has worked alongside Canadian human performance specialist Dr Jacques Dallaire.
In his speaking engagements, Simon connects lessons from elite motorsport with the challenges faced by businesses and individuals. He explores how physical preparation, focus and daily habits influence performance, and how people can prepare themselves to meet demanding goals. His experience offers audiences an insight into what happens behind the scenes of sporting success, with relevant lessons for those seeking to perform more effectively in their own working lives.
Simon’s talks can be tailored to corporate audiences, teams and individuals, drawing on his extensive experience of helping people develop and sustain high performance.
