About Paul Hollywood
From working in his family’s bakery to becoming one of Britain’s best-known culinary figures, Paul Hollywood has spent his career championing the craft of baking. After initially training in sculpture, he chose to follow his passion for baking, developing his skills through apprenticeships and senior baking roles at prestigious hotels including The Chester Grosvenor and The Dorchester.
His expertise and approachable style led to regular appearances on food and cookery programmes including This Morning, Ready Steady Cook, Richard and Judy and Great Food Live. He also became a respected food writer, contributing to publications including The Observer and BBC Good Food, while authoring several successful books, including 100 Great Breads and How to Bake.
Paul’s profile grew significantly when he joined The Great British Bake Off as a judge, becoming known for his honest assessments, technical expertise and passion for quality baking. The programme’s success established him as one of the most recognisable figures in British food television.
Alongside Bake Off, Paul has fronted his own series including Paul Hollywood’s Bread and Paul Hollywood’s Pies and Puds, sharing his knowledge and encouraging audiences to develop their own baking skills. He has also developed his own artisan bread and pastry range, supplying leading retailers including Harrods and Waitrose.
