Jasmine Birtles is a TV and radio presenter, speaker and financial expert. She has made a career out of combining her financial knowledge with her comedy skills. A highly revered after-dinner speaker, conference speaker and events and awards host, Jasmine is renowned for making a usually dull and worrying subject palatable, accessible and fun for any audience. Tailoring her talks to any audience or organisation, Jasmine is renowned for “putting the funny into money.”
About Jasmine Birtles
Jasmine Birtles, in addition to presenting television and radio, has authored 38 books. She is also a director of three companies and has even dipped her toe in stand-up comedy! She specialises in giving humorous speeches about the finance industry and the business community and can talk on topics ranging from pensions, AI to Big Data. Jasmine has spoken at and hosted conferences for a wide variety of companies and industries including BT, IBM and Ernst and Young.
Jasmine Birtles claims to have had a portfolio career ‘since before it was fashionable.’ So much so that she now trains other people in how to have one themselves. Her workshop ‘How to be your own brand,’ teaches people the secrets of successful careers and is popular with both employees and freelancers alike.
She is adept at making some of the most seemingly complicated concepts understandable and accessible to anyone. Jasmine also has two magazine columns and has written for a variety of newspapers and magazines including The Independent, The Express, Essentials Magazine, Move or Improve magazine, Glamour Magazine and many others.
Jasmine has co-presented BBC 1’s “Homes Under the Hammer”, ITV Scotland’s “Spend Spend Spend” as well as “First Time Buyers” and “Doctor Dosh” for UKTV Style. She regularly appears as a financial expert on GMTV, Daily Politics (BBC), This Morning, Sky News and The Wright Stuff.

Jasmine gives this practical and entertaining talk to employees and association members both in-person and online, and has already helped thousands of people learn how to manage their money and gain confidence in investing. The talk can last from one to three hours, depending on what is needed, and covers topics such as day-to-day clever spending, how to save when you don’t have any money, how to understand your company pension and how to start investing for yourself. She speaks to groups of ten to a thousand+ and follows it up with written materials with links to further reading and learning. A hugely popular talk she has given it to a number of organisations including the BBC (for ten years), O2, Babcock and NBC.

Jasmine speaks about the pros and cons of different forms of Fintech, again, particularly from the point of view of the consumer. She covers areas such as banking apps, peer-to-peer platforms, cryptocurrencies, Blockchain-based technologies and robots-investing. She also speaks about the potential uses in personal finance and investing of emerging technologies such as AI and VR. A fan of Fintech, Jasmine nevertheless is skeptical about many of the claims of its developers, and is wary of both various products’ vulnerabilities to hackers and fraudsters and their interfaces with consumers.
