About Dr Anna Colton

Dr Anna Colton is a regular face on television, frequently appearing as an expert on ITV’s This Morning as well as LBC and BBC Radio 5 Live. With experience across both the NHS and private medical sector, she now advises TV companies on projects involving social experiments and human behaviour. Her speaking work often addresses eating disorders, self-harm, parenting and performance anxiety in both children and adults.

Dr Anna Colton achieved a first-class degree at Bristol University before completing her clinical training at University College London. She has worked in leading institutions including The Tavistock Clinic, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Priory Roehampton, and now works exclusively in private practice. She is registered with the HCPC and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Her media work includes appearances as a body image expert on Sky Living’s Different Kind of Woman and BBC One’s Health: Truth or Scare?. She has also contributed to the BBC Mind Set GCSE campaign, the UK’s first national peer-to-peer coaching network supporting students with exam stress, and worked on the National Citizen Service body image campaign, appearing on programmes such as Sky Sunrise and Good Morning Britain.

Anna is trained in a wide range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, ACT and EMDR, and is also a qualified clinical hypnotherapist. She is passionate about helping people manage anxiety, build resilience and perform at their best, with a strong focus on early intervention in adolescent mental health and eating disorders.

Alongside her clinical work, Anna supports performers in the West End, working with productions such as Hamilton, Les Misérables, Billy Elliot and Matilda, helping both adults and children manage stage fright and performance pressure. With her own background in drama training and music, she brings a unique understanding to working with performers.
