About Paul Rankin

Paul Rankin is one of the UK and Ireland’s best-known television chefs, best recognised for his long-standing role on BBC Two’s Ready Steady Cook, where he appeared for more than a decade. He has also featured on programmes including Saturday Kitchen, Step Up to the Plate, Local Food Heroes, GMTV and his own BBC Northern Ireland series, The Rankin Challenge.

Alongside his television work, Paul is an accomplished author, having published several cookery books including Gourmet Ireland, Gourmet Ireland 2, Ideal Home Cooking, Dublin Dining and New Irish Cookery. He has also worked as a consultant for Sodexo, served as International Ambassador for Bushmills Whiskey and developed a successful range of Irish breads with Irwin’s Bakery.

In addition to his work in food and broadcasting, Paul has spoken at industry conferences on nutrition and care home catering following his involvement in improving menus for elderly care homes in Belfast. Warm, engaging and highly experienced, Paul remains a popular guest, speaker and broadcaster.
