About Laura Winterling

With a background in physics she Laura Winterling became an Astronaut Instructor for the European Space Agency in the field of spacecraft systems and spacecraft sensors. She has been teaching astronauts for over a decade and has taught more than 80 international astronauts on space craft and station systems.

Laura has a MSc. in Physics from the University of Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany and a MSc. in Organisational Psychology from UCL, London.

The International Space Station (ISS) Program enabled her to teach flight controllers in various Mission Control Centers around the globe. She has spent time in Toulouse, France, Moscow and Houston.  At the Space Centre in Houston she sat in during real-time operations on board the ISS.  Subsequently she observed to manned Sojuz launches in Kasachstan.

Most recently. Laura has completed  her certifications for CRM (crew resource management) and the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) which both serve as pillars to improve team performance and individual growth. CRM refers to a process, airplane crews can use to avoid, manage and mitigate human errors through communication and teamwork. The MBTI is a popular training tool for professional development and organisational improvement in all kinds. Within workplaces, the Indicator is particularly useful with teams for conflict management and performance improvement, for employee coaching, for management development, or for executive coaching.

Laura is an accomplished motivational speaker and presenter.  And her clients include, Talanx, spaceX, Tesla, Allen Overy, Apleona, Ascon, DEVK, Dumont, expoAIR, H Hotels, IMEX, Post Bank Insurances, RWE.

Laura shares insights into space missions, living on board a space station and the day to day life of an astronaut. And she combines them with her expertise in leadership,  efficient decision making, surviving stressful situations and efficient communications. Laura provides audiences with exclusive insights in modern space flight ventures accompanied by her own personal experiences.  These have been gathered around the globe at International Partner Sites such as NASA and Roskosmos.
