About Daliso Chaponda

Daliso is also the writer, creator, and host of his Rose d’Or nominated BBC Radio 4 show Citizen of Nowhere. The forth series aired in October 2023 and you can catch it on BBC iPlayer. He also hosted brand new show The Exploding Library for BBC Radio 4 in November 2021. He is also a regular on The News QuizJust A Minute and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).

Other television appearances include Good Evening Britain and Britain’s Got Talent Champions 2019 (ITV), The Complaints Department and Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains (Comedy Central), Unforgivable (Dave), and The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC2).

Daliso has performed around the world and at the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Singapore, and Cape Town comedy festivals. He has also toured the UK three time to sell out audiences. His stand up specials ‘What the African Said’, ‘Blah Blah Blacklist’ and ‘Apocalypse Not Now’ are available to watch on ITVX.

In December 2021, Daliso made his pantomime debut as the principal comedian in Aladdin at the Redhill Theatre in Surrey, receiving rave reviews.

In addition to stand up, Daliso is also a prolific fiction writer. He has published science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction in numerous magazines, and anthologies. He is currently working on his new novel and a children’s book.
