Liz Shanahan

Liz Shanahan is one of the healthcare and life sciences sector’s most experienced advisers, helping senior leaders navigate complex organisational, market access, brand and partnership challenges in rapidly changing environments. A successful entrepreneur, she founded healthcare communications consultancy Santé Communications, growing it into one of the world’s leading specialist agencies before its acquisition by FTI Consulting in 2007.

Following the acquisition, Liz became Global Head and Senior Managing Director of Healthcare & Life Sciences Communications at FTI Consulting, advising many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations. She also played a key role in developing cross-business opportunities across FTI’s wider healthcare practice and led the firm’s World Economic Forum programme.

Beginning her career at Merck & Co., Liz has worked across healthcare communications, public affairs and corporate strategy for more than three decades. Today, she continues to advise CEOs and leadership teams, while also investing in and supporting a number of health-tech and pharmaceutical start-ups. She is currently a Non-Executive Director at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and remains a highly respected voice across the global healthcare sector.
