About Millie Gooch
Millie Gooch is the founder of the Sober Girl Society and one of the leading voices in the UK’s sobriety movement. Her first book, The Sober Girl Society Handbook, was described as “an empowering survival guide” by the Evening Standard and led to her appointment as a proud ambassador for Alcohol Change UK. In November 2024, she expanded her literary portfolio with her mindfulness journal, Booze-Less.
A recognized authority in documenting the sobriety journey, Millie has partnered with global brands including Sainsbury’s, Anthropologie, Tinder, and Microsoft Windows. She has also delivered employee workshops for organisations like ASOS, Charlotte Tilbury, and the Ministry of Justice, and has appeared as a guest on prominent podcasts such as Boots’ Taboo Talks alongside Vogue Williams and Should I Delete That? with Alex Light and Em Clarkson.
In 2022, Millie received the prestigious Media Award from the Research Society on Alcoholism for her contributions in helping disseminate empirical research and create a supportive space for people to explore alcohol-free living. Further solidifying her authority in the space, in 2024, Millie completed her Master’s in Mental Health & Addiction with a distinction and was nominated for Changemaker of the Year at the B Creator Awards. Her TEDx Talk has further solidified her influence, amassing over 4 million views across social platforms in just two weeks and sparking important conversations about alcohol and mental health.
