"Mike Bates stands out not only as the first person in the history of the MOD to ever qualify for the highest levels of frontline operations in the global war on terror, but also as a man whose life embodies resilience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to make a significant impact. His achievements, on so many fronts, are simply extraordinary. Expect to be empowered, inspired & deeply humbled."

Tracey Duke

"Mike – what an absolute gent, he was in constant contact me when he get there, letting me know he’s arrived and where to find him at the BBQ, which was much appreciated. He joined in some of Thursday’s sessions, which he then bought seamlessly into his talk, adding in ‘as I know you’ve been talking about xx’ which was so good and you don’t often find in a keynote. His speech was thought provoking and well delivered, quite a few people asked for selfies with him afterwards so I take that as a good sign."
