About Mark Jones
Mark Jones is a multi-award winning presenter he has won ‘Regional Presenter of the month’ on numerous occasions. Not limiting his talents to just radio, Mark has written and published several books, including the best-selling ‘Mark Jones’ Birthday Book’, which became the definitive UK Radio reference book. Astonishingly in 2001 he was only a few blocks away from the World Trade Centre Towers in lower Manhattan on 9/11 volunteering with rescue services and reporting ‘live’ from Ground Zero for UK radio.
Mark Jones started out as a pimply youth in his hometown at BBC Manchester, he graduated to Liverpool’s Radio City, lost his pimples …and won several awards. These include a prestigious Sony for his hosting of the Michael Jackson Aintree Racecourse concert, (the ‘biggest solo concert in history’) entertaining a crowd of more than 125,000.
Mark Jones has compèred thousands of events, working with many of his sporting heroes, David Beckham, Freddie Flintoff, Matt Le Tissier, Frank Bruno, Sir Richard Hadlee, Ryan Giggs, Sir Ian Botham and Sir Alex Ferguson. Mark even fronted a very successful “sportsmen’s-dinners-for-the-troops” tour of war-torn Kosovo in 2000 with England’s World Cup winners, Alan Ball and Jack Charlton.
Mark has also covered Rugby League and cricket, featuring on Channel 4 and Sky Sports on the ODIs, Tests and County games’ live coverage from around the UK, where he presented all the televised interviews with Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, Michael Holding and the late, great Richie Benaud.
Featuring on Channel 4 and Sky Sports on the One Day cricket Internationals, Test Matches and County games around the UK. He presented the pre-match interviews with cricket legends Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, Michael Holding, Richie Benaud, and ‘Bumble’, David Lloyd.
He has covered the Manchester United and Liverpool FC pre-season American Tours for UK radio
After several very successful years at both North West & East Midlands regional Century FM* stations (*now Real Radio), Mark returned to Radio City’s Magic 1548 in Liverpool, to host a networked programme. He’s also heard on Manchester’s Magic 1152 (formerly Piccadilly Radio). He’s also been heard recently on US radio station W-E-F-T and Q-96 in Central Illinois – where he also hosted the black-tie American Heart Association Fundraising Dinners in Champaign, Illinois, in both 2010 and 2011.
"We owe you a massive thank you - your professionalism and your approach to this challenging evening [at London's Guildhall, 2019] was incredibly appreciated and you were fabulous on the night. Our clients thought you were fantastic and it takes a lot to get any feedback from them! I really wanted to send a personal thank you as we could not have asked for a better man for the job."
L.W., Event Organiser at The Guildhall, London
"Mark Jones was an absolute asset for our event the 2020 Triple H Awards, dedicated to the Hotel Hospitality Sector. A consummate professional: Mark was humorous and inoffensive to our multi-cultural guests [at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel]. He carried out his duties whilst keeping our delegates engaged. As Events Organisers, we will definitely be calling on the services of Mark in the very near future..."
Mark Gleed, Director, MEG Events Ltd., Reading., Berks.
"…a big thank you for last night's performance; I think you judged the audience just right as always, and really made the evening special for everyone. Our sponsors loved it (...and that's the main thing...!)"
Karen Brindley, Managing Director, Krowne Communications (UK) Ltd.
" I thought Mark Jones was majestic in his handling and compèring the event. He kept everything moving in a most professional and competent manner; I can think of few other hosts who could have handled the event in such a professional way and with the provision of such good sound and lighting (which Mark also supplied). Many other super-expensive high-profile presenters would have stumbled over some of the Sri-Lankan pronunciations and protocols required. Mark did not." (2015) . (2016) "Thank you for making the BRISLA awards such a success again! Next year’s event is November 14th 2017. Are you free? Please reserve the date."
Zimar Sivardeen, President & Chairman, British Sri Lankan Association

"Mark Jones was excellent as MC, he had the room laughing most of the evening, kept the whole event running to time (something I was particularly worried about) did everything we requested of him and more, so much so we would like to book him again for our event next year... The feedback was extremely complimentary; we have been running this event for 30+ years using various people as MC they all assured me Mark was the best ever."
