About Anita Asante
Anita began her career at Arsenal, where she was part of the historic women’s team that achieved the unprecedented quadruple in 2007, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League — a feat no English men’s or women’s team has repeated since. She went on to enjoy a successful international club career, winning league titles in England, the USA and Sweden, and representing Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She competed in five major international tournaments before retiring from professional football in 2022, with an honours list that includes a UEFA Women’s Cup, five league titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups. In recognition of her impact, she was inducted into the WSL Hall of Fame in 2023.
Since retiring, Anita has become a leading football pundit and commentator, working across BBC, Sky Sports and ITV, including coverage of the historic UEFA Women’s Euros in 2022 and 2025. She was also part of the DAZN commentary team for the Club World Cup 2025 in the United States, valued for her clarity, authority and ability to communicate complex insights to broad audiences.
Beyond broadcasting, Anita is widely respected for using her platform to drive diversity, equality and opportunity in sport. She is an Ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card and Amnesty International, and alongside her role as coach for the England U23 Lionesses, she works closely with The FA and The National Lottery to support participation and progression for girls at grassroots level.
As a speaker, Anita translates the lessons of elite sport into practical, business-relevant insights, making her a popular choice for corporate conferences, leadership events and inclusion programmes. She has delivered keynotes for organisations including JP Morgan, Peloton and Bank of America, and is praised for her authenticity, intelligence and calm authority on stage.
