About Nick Hewer

Nick Hewer built his reputation long before appearing on television, establishing a successful public relations business that advised major organisations and high-profile international clients. After founding his own agency in the 1960s, he grew the business into one of the UK’s leading consultancies before selling it in 1998.

A defining chapter of his career began in 1983 when his agency was appointed to represent Amstrad. This marked the start of a long-standing professional relationship with Lord Alan Sugar, with Nick playing a key role in managing the entrepreneur’s business and charitable interests for more than two decades.

Although he initially retired to France after selling his business, Nick was persuaded by Lord Sugar to join the BBC’s The Apprentice. His incisive observations, dry humour and ability to spot both strengths and weaknesses quickly made him a favourite with viewers. The programme introduced him to a new audience and led to further television opportunities, including presenting Channel 4’s Countdown and appearing on a range of news, entertainment and documentary programmes.

Alongside his business and broadcasting work, Nick is a passionate supporter of charitable causes. As a patron of Hope and Homes for Children, he has worked extensively with the organisation both in the UK and overseas, while his love of travel has taken him across the world in support of fundraising initiatives.

Drawing on his experiences in business, media and life at the heart of one of television’s most successful shows, Nick delivers entertaining and insightful presentations filled with practical lessons, humour and behind-the-scenes stories.
