About The Baroness Newlove

Baroness Helen Newlove is an inspirational leader, advocate, and coach who has transformed personal tragedy into a lifetime of public service and empowerment. Appointed to the House of Lords in 2010, Baroness Newlove became a symbol of resilience and dedication to community safety, victim support, and social justice.

Following the tragic death of her husband, Garry Newlove, in 2007, she channelled her grief into action, becoming a tireless campaigner against anti-social behaviour and youth violence.

Best known for her role as Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales from 2012 to 2019, and in October 2023, she was re-appointed for an interim period of 12 months.   Baroness Newlove worked tirelessly to reform victim services, ensuring that the needs of victims were placed at the heart of the criminal justice system. Her leadership brought about key policy changes, including improving communication between victims and criminal justice agencies increasing support for vulnerable groups, and enhancing restorative justice practices. Her work continues to inspire, as she uses her platform in the House of Lords and beyond to advocate for stronger communities, social mobility, and personal empowerment.

Beyond her government leadership, Baroness Newlove has distinguished herself as an accredited Mind Coding Resilience Coach – The Mouse Now Roars.
