How to choose the right corporate speaker for your event
The phrase Corporate Speaker covers a plethora of genres. And sometimes the phrase can confuse as many ask whether it refers specifically to the Speaker’s corporate background or simply to an outstanding, first-class speaker who is suitable for a specific corporate audience.
The most important point when choosing a speaker for any event is to consider who the audience is and what the company booking/the audience want from the speaker’s delivery.
For example, a company wanting to motivate their sales force are likely going to require someone who has a background in selling. However, if the company wants to inspire their workforce in general then someone who doesn’t necessarily have a corporate background would be equally suitable. For example, a sportsperson or a speaker who has overcome adversity in some form could have a huge impact on a corporate audience.
On the other hand if the event is to reinforce a company mantra or mission statement or encourage leadership to a group of company executives, then both corporate experience and leadership skills obtained outside of a corporate environment will both fit the brief.
Another aspect to consider is the physical event – is it going to be ticketed or a free to attend type of function. How many people will be in the audience and when are you going to use the speaker. To kick of the morning, end the morning on a high, rouse the audience after the lunch break or leave them this a lasting message as they close off the conference or event with an inspiring and impressionable speech.
