About Katherine Moloney
Katherine Moloney is the founder of Elevate(her) Aviation, a global organisation dedicated to increasing the percentage of women in aviation careers. The organisation has grown rapidly and now connects thousands of aspiring aviation professionals across 144 countries, aiming to make the industry more accessible and visible to those who may not have previously considered it a realistic career path.
Her journey into aviation began at the age of 18 after taking an introductory helicopter lesson that sparked a lasting interest in flying. What started as a single experience, changed the course of her life, leading her to earn a private pilot licence in both helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft. That early exposure not only shaped her career ambitions but also influenced the work she now does to encourage others to explore aviation.
At just 27 years old, Katherine occupies a rare position within the industry. Having trained as a pilot herself, she understands the realities and expectations of aviation from firsthand experience. At the same time, she has built a significant public platform that allows her to influence how younger audiences perceive the field. Through organic content shared on Instagram and TikTok, she has created a community of more than 700,000 followers.
Katherine has also represented the aviation sector in official roles, including serving as an Aviation Ambassador for the UK Department for Transport. She has additionally contributed to international discussions around gender representation, including work linked with UN Women UK.
In 2025, her contributions were recognised when she received the IATA High Flyer Award, and in April 2026 was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Europe.
Her speaking engagements focus on practical strategies to strengthen the workforce particularly retaining trained professionals, developing sustainable career pathways, and building industry cultures where women can succeed without feeling pressured to change who they are.
