About Michael Akadiri
Michael’s TV career continues to grow, with appearances on Comedy Central LIVE (Comedy Central), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2) and Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer. His radio credits include the Capital Xtra Breakfast Show, BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, and stand-up sets on Radio 4’s Fred at the Stand. Online, he has collaborated with major digital brands including Channel 4’s Jokes Only, LadBible UK and Project Giving Back at the Chelsea Flower Show 2024.
Alongside his comedy career, Michael is also a practising NHS doctor, currently on sabbatical from surgical training. His medical background gives him a unique voice and has made him a trusted health commentator, appearing across BBC Two’s Newsnight, LBC, Times Radio and The Guardian’s opinion pages.
Michael’s debut Edinburgh Fringe show, No Scrubs, sold out its entire run and earned a nomination for the Biggest Award in Comedy. His second show, Trust Me, I’m a Daddy, toured the UK to acclaim in 2024/25, and he’ll take his third tour, Don’t Call Me Uncle!, on the road in 2026.
A regular performer at major festivals including Latitude, Hay, Reading and Green Man, Michael also plays the UK’s top comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, Glee Club and Komedia. He is in high demand for corporate events as both a performer and host, with previous clients including Apple UK, Spotify UK and NHS England.
Warm, quick and brilliantly engaging, Michael Akadiri brings humour and heart to every stage he steps on.
